Issuing a Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate for subdomain returns an error: Failed to fetch domain certificate status data. Object not found: 0.

Symptoms

• The following error is shown in the Plesk panel:

  Could not issue an SSL/TLS certificate for example.example.com Details Object not found: 0

• Plesk SSL It! extension version from 1.14.0 to 1.14.2-889 is installed on the server, which can be confirmed by going to Plesk > Extensions > My Extensions > SSL It!

• While issuing a Let's Encrypt SSL certificate for a subdomain produces logs as the following in /var/log/plesk/panel.log:

  ERR [extension/sslit] Error happened while certificate processing : Object not found: 0
  ERR [extension/sslit] Failed to fetch domain example.example.com certificate status data. Object not found: 0.
  ERR [extension/sslit] Failed to fetch domain example.example.com certificate status data. Object not found: 0.
  ERR [extension/sslit] Error happened while certificate processing : Object not found: 0
  ERR [extension/sslit] Failed to fetch domain example.example.com certificate status data. Object not found: 0.
  ERR [extension/sslit] Failed to fetch domain example.example.com certificate status data. Object not found: 0.

• The SSL certificate is provisioned and secures the subdomain correctly, regardless of the error message.

• The DNS Server (BIND) component is not installed on the server.

Cause

This issue is caused by an SSL It! extension bug #EXTSSLIT-2064, which was fixed permanently in version 1.14.2-902 of the SSL It! extension

Resolution

Update the SSL It! extension to version 1.14.2-902 or higher by following the steps in this article:
