This defines a computing infrastructure’s capabilities for providing extra servers that might be deployed on runtime for backup, load balancing, or temporarily stopping a main server to undergo maintenance.
How Does Server Redundancy Work?
In an enterprise computing infrastructure, server redundancy will be implemented when server availability is crucial. A server replica will need to be made to enable server redundancy, and it must have equal computing power, applications, storage capabilities, and additional operational parameters.
Redundant servers remain offline: they will power on and have an internet connection, though they’re not utilized as live servers. In the event of downtime, failure, or an overwhelming amount of traffic at the main server, redundant servers can be implemented to replace the primary one or to share its traffic.
