Unable to remove a domain: Permission denied to remove domain ID

Unable to remove a domain by marking the checkbox and pressing the Remove button via Plesk > Domains:

due to the following error:

Error: Permission denied to remove domain ID

Remove the domain using one of the following ways:

via Graphical User Interface (GUI):

Log in to Plesk.
Go to Domains > example.com.
Click the Remove Website button:

Note: If no such button is presented then this domain is the main domain of the corresponding subscription, and it can be removed only with the subscription together.

Warning: subscription removing will delete all domains assigned to this subscription. If other domains should remain untouched, create a temporary subscription example1.com, move the domains to it, and rename it to example.com after removing the domain in question.
Go to Subscriptions > example.com > Websites & Domains and press the Remove Subscription button:

Connect to the server via SSH.
Execute the following command to remove the domain example.com:

Note: change example.com the command below to the required domain name.

# plesk bin domain --remove example.com
