Plesk for Windows login page does not load: The connection was reset

Symptoms

• The login page of Plesk does not open, but returns an ERR_CONNECTION_RESET message instead
• A Plesk update was performed recently

Cause

Broken configuration of the PleskControlPanel website in IIS, often due to an unfinished update of the Plesk panel.

Resolution

1. Connect to the server via RDP

2. Start Plesk Reconfigurator and launch the following checks under Repair Plesk Installation:

   

3. If reconfigurator does not help, start a command prompt as an Administrator and execute the following commands:

   C:> "%plesk_bin64%"websrvmng.exe --remove-sites-cache

   C:> "%plesk_bin64%"websrvmng.exe --configure-plesk-website
