Can Plesk manage disk space or extend a partition on a Linux-based server?

Answer

The Plesk control panel does not manage disk space or partitioning on Linux servers by design.

Disk space and partition management is a task reserved for the Linux system administrator that manages the Linux server.

If the server is running out of disk space, the following can be done:

• Clean up temporary files in accordance with the following article.

• Remove old unnecessary backups and their logs

• If it is possible, add a new disk and change the default virtual hosts, mailbox or backup locations, so that data tied to them is stored on the new disk.

• If the server filesystem has configured LVM, it is possible to extend the partition in accordance with the official virtual machine documentation.
