Symptoms
An error is displayed when trying to issue a paid certificate in Domains > example.com > SSL/TLS Certificate:
Failed to submit the certificate order. The error: The value of the 'stateOrProvinceName' argument is invalid!. Check the specified contact data and try to submit the order again.
Cause
Incorrect state or province format used. Certificate requests should use the ISO 3166-2 standard for country codes.
Resolution
Make sure that the state or province country code is set correctly according to the current ISO 3166-2 standard, and resubmit the certificate request.
Note: for Singapore, use a full subdivision code taken from the ISO 3166-2:SG article, e.g. South West, North East, etc.
