Plesk Obsidian 18.0.71 is here, and it’s packed with enhancements aimed at improving server management, enhancing migration capabilities, and giving administrators finer-grained control over their environments. Whether you’re managing a single VPS or hundreds of domains across multiple servers, this release brings welcome improvements to your workflow.
Key Highlights
Enhanced Plesk Migrator
Migrating to a new server just got easier. The Plesk Migrator tool can now transfer:
- Server-wide mail settings
- Plesk administrator profile settings
- Extensions settings (when migrating from Plesk for Linux 17.0 or later)
This improvement supports imports from:
- Plesk for Linux 12.0+ (mail and admin settings)
- Plesk for Windows 17.0+ (mail and admin settings)
- Plesk for Linux 17.0+ (mail, admin and extension settings)
Per-Domain HTTP/3 Support (Linux Only)
For servers with HTTP/3 enabled, you can now toggle support per domain via the “Apache & nginx” settings page. Ideal for troubleshooting, testing performance, or selectively enabling the latest HTTP protocol.
Granular Permissions in Restricted Mode
Plesk’s Restricted Mode is now even more powerful with new permission toggles, giving administrators tight control over what their team members can access. Newly introduced permissions include:
- phpMyAdmin Access
- Mail Bounce Controls
- Hostname Management
- Customize Plesk URL
- Allow Local FTP Backups
- Website Log Check
- Forum and Help Center Visibility
- Access to Key Extensions like SSH Access, Advisor, Repair Kit, Log Browser, and Webserver Troubleshooter
These updates help you define custom roles that match your business workflows or client needs.
Feature Improvements
SSL It! Extension Upgrades
SSL management just got smarter:
- Option to secure the “mail” subdomain when issuing certificates
- Improved filtering of insecure components
- No more stalled orders during auto renew when a valid certificate already exists
MariaDB 11.4 Upgrade via GUI
You can now upgrade to MariaDB 11.4 directly from the Plesk GUI, simplifying database management for supported applications.
mod_sftp Now Included (Linux)
Linux users now get mod_sftp included in the proftpd package, paving the way for secure file transfers. While manual configuration is required for now, Plesk plans to add UI-level SFTP configuration in a future release.
More Usability Enhancements
- Mail helper now includes setup instructions for Outlook for Microsoft 365
- Removing domains no longer triggers DNS updates, avoiding unintended changes
- Plesk Installer improved for accessibility: now fully operable via keyboard with better focus indicators
Deprecations to Note
- Plesk UserVoice will be sunset by October 2025. Feature requests are now managed via the new Plesk Productboard at features.plesk.com.
- Several APS apps have been removed from the catalog. Installed apps remain functional but no new installations via APS are supported.
- Starting from this release, all EventListener interface implementations must define the filterActions method to remain compatible with the Plesk SDK. See more details.
