Before becoming a Pleskian, he was Head of Platform Engineering at Zalando, responsible for overseeing the company’s system engineering, identity and access management, continuous delivery of developer tooling teams, and he also drove Zalando’s open-source activities. In the early days of his career, Jan was Head of Development Webhosting and Server at 1&1 Internet AG and became a true expert and trusted advisor in the hosting industry.

In 2011 he co-founded the Internet Infrastructure Coalition (I2Coalition), an advocacy organization for the Internet infrastructure industry. He manages the i2Coalition’s public policy portfolio. David is also on the Board of Directors of CasaQ, a shelter for homeless LGBTQ+ youth in Albuquerque.
