Python is one of the most popular programming languages for web development, powering frameworks such as Django, Flask, and FastAPI. The Python extension allows customers to deploy and manage WSGI-based Python applications on their websites directly from Plesk.

The extension runs applications via Phusion Passenger and takes care of the web server configuration for you. With this extension, you can:

• Enable Python support on a domain with just a few clicks.
• Automatically detect the Python interpreter from the application’s virtual environment.
• Create a virtual environment for the application from the UI.
• Install application dependencies.
• View project metadata (name, version, and description) picked up from pyproject.toml.
• Specify custom environment variables and store sensitive values as encrypted secrets.
• Restart the application in one click.
• Install a demo Python application to try the extension in action.

Customer access is controlled by the "Python support management" permission in service plans and subscriptions.
