Unable to login to webmail.example.com hosted in Plesk with valid credentials after migration: Login Failed

Symptoms

• Unable to login into the webmail (e.g. Horde or Roundcube) webmail.example.com after migration due to the following error:

  Login Failed

• Password reset did not resolve the issue.

• DNS propagation tool, e.g. whatsmydns.net, and shows that webmail.example.com still resolves to the IP address of the previous server for several locations.

Cause

DNS records for webmail.example.com are not fully propagated worldwide yet and still pointing to old server:

# dig +short webmail.example.com
203.0.113.2

Where 203.0.113.2 is IP is address of old server.

Resolution

Wait up to 48 hours until new records are available on all global DNS servers.
