Issuing a Digicert GeoTrust certificate via Plesk is stuck: The certificate is being issued

Symptoms

Unable to issue Digicert GeoTrust certificate using SSL It! extension. The below message persists under Domains > example.com > SSL It!:

The certificate is being issued

Cause

Since this is an OV/EV certificate ir requires a public phone number available as described here.

The fact that Plesk does not show a warning about this has been reported as bug #EXTSSLIT-1355 which will be fixed in future updates.

Resolution

Three alternatives can be followed:

1. Add a phone number to public sources and notify DigiCert about it by sending a message to validation@digicert.com.
2. Send a bill, where the payment for the certificate is shown, to validation@digicert.com.
3. Cancel the order, ask us for a refund and issue DV certificate instead such as Let's Encrypt which does not require a public phone number.
