How to switch the database server from MySQL to MariaDB on Plesk for Windows?

Note: This article describes solution for Windows-based servers. For Linux-based servers refer to this article

MariaDB 10.x is used as the default database server for new installations of Plesk Obsidian.

To switch MySQL to MariaDB manually, perform the following operations:

1. Login to Plesk
2. Go to Tools & Settings > Updates > Add/Remove Components
3. Select MariaDB 10.x server for installation:
   
4. Click Continue

Note: MariaDB will use the same databases so no further actions are required.
