Symptoms
- The following pre-upgrade warning is shown when trying to upgrade Plesk:
Components and product validation detected at least one important issue:
Plesk pre-upgrade checking...
WARNING: [MYSQL ERROR] Given <password> is incorrect. Access denied for user ''@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Proceeding with installation or upgrade without resolving the issues
that were found can corrupt your data.

The client MySQL service is not listed at Start > Administrative Tools > Services

The following command shows no output:
C:> netstat -a | findstr 3306
- There is just one database shown at Plesk > Tools & Services > Databases. And it’s a Microsoft SQL Server one.
Cause
Client MySQL is not installed on the server. As a result, Plesk Installer tries to parse it but fails.
Resolution
The pre-upgrade warning can be safely ignored.
