Although there was no official announcement yet, Plesk 12.0 was released and is already available for deployment. The general availability mark will be set a little bit later, but now this release is in the “early adopter” stage. This means that you can install it right now and start using the new features.
Plesk 12.0 has already been installed on more than 1000 servers and the numbers are rising very quickly. I did not hear about any serious problems, so there is no need for you to wait any longer if you have plans to install Plesk 12.0.
To install Plesk 12.0 on a new server, run the following commands on console on your server:
chmod +x plesk-installer
After few steps you will see an option to install Plesk 12.0:
Select the desired products and their versions
The following product versions are available:
1. [*] Parallels Plesk Panel
2. (*) Parallels Plesk Panel 12.0.18
3. ( ) Parallels Plesk Panel 11.5.30 (stable)
To upgrade Plesk on your server using Administrator panel, go to Tools & Settings > Update and Upgrade Settings and select “Early adopter release” option.
After that, go to Tools & Settings > Updates and Upgrades. If everything is OK, then you should see something like the following:
Plesk 12.0 includes a lot of interesting features (see Release notes for details). One of them is integration of Plesk Extensions catalog with Plesk. Now you can find and install new interesting extensions in a few clicks:
Another long-awaited feature is loggin in to reseller accounts on behalf of resellers (impersonation). Now administrators can assist their resellers without asking about their passwords.
Simple but handy functionality to add custom descriptions for customers, domains and etc. was added to Plesk 12.0:
